How to Vote

Voting to chose people to lead a country, city, province or municipality is a privilege many people in the world are denied of.  Our democratic system is envied by those who only dream of choosing their leaders and to have their voices heard.

Municipal Government is the grassroots level of government that provides services like:

  • water
  • sewage
  • waste collection
  • public transit
  • land use planning
  • libraries
  • emergency services
  • animal control
  • Economic development

Those who are elected are possibly your friends or neighbours who have a vested interest in their communities and can see how their decisions directly shape the small part of the world they live in.

The 2022 Election is St. Clair Township will be done by mail in ballot.  The ballots will be mailed out the week of Sept. 26, 2022 to all those on the Voters List. If you don’t receive a ballot by Oct. 4, please call the clerk                Jeff Baranek at 519-867-2021 ext. 1241 to check on your voting status.  You can go directly to the                  St. Clair Township Civic Centre at 1155 Emily St., Mooretown to pick up a ballot if you are found not to be on the voters list.

Ballots by mail is convenient and easy way to vote.  You simply have to fill in the ballot according to the instructions and mail it back on or before Oct. 17 to ensure it arrives in time for counting.  You can also hand deliver it to the St. Clair Township Civic Centre, especially if you haven’t mailed it by Oct. 17.
