The plan of subdivision has been approved on the east side of Courtright and it looks like construction of the Courtright Landing subdivision has begun. Lots of machinery breaking ground for Sutherland Drive (running east off of Sixth Street, between Main and Emi Streets) making room for 61 single family dwellings and a storm water management pond.
It’s good to see subdivisions that have been on paper for years or decades to finally come to fruition. Although it will change the landscape of the neighbourhood, it’s nice to see people wanting to invest in our communities.
The street name pays homage to the Sutherland family who were early land owners and generous citizens of St. Clair Township (check out the Sampler article on the Moore Museum website). We are luck to have two museums rich in history about the places and people of St. Clair Township.
