The Mermaids and Mariners on the St. Clair River festival on Aug. 20, 2022 blew everyone out of the water! This brand new event was spearheaded by local resident Sherri DeWolff, who is a fireball of enthusiasm and energy.
By volunteering all afternoon, I saw first hand how thousands of people of all ages (and plenty of mermaids) enjoyed the vendors, music, refreshment tent, activities, photos with mermaids and so many more fun things on the banks of the St. Clair River.
Brander Park was the perfect venue for the event with it’s swaying trees, sand beaches, nautical themed splash pad and lush green lawns. While picking up trash and manning the St. Clair River Trail booth, I spoke to people from all over Lambton and Chatham-Kent who came down to join the fun.
Thank you to Sherri and her crew for taking the leap to bring what we hope is an annual event.
